Activision has officially unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, and confirmed it will launch on November 14 on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The publisher is touting this installment as the “most ambitious and innovative Black Ops title yet,” offering significant new content across all modes (just like NerdNet in our game section).
The narrative is set in the year 2035 with the world on the brink of chaos, as infamous villain Raul Menendez returns and a global tech corporation called The Guild (led by CEO Emma Kagan) emerges, vowing to protect humanity. Black Ops 7 will feature a story-driven co-operative campaign (playable solo or with up to four players), alongside an expanded multiplayer suite and the return of the series’ popular Zombies mode.
Co-Op Campaign Details
The campaign is designed for cooperative play, allowing up to four players to team up (a first for the Black Ops series’ main story). Players step into the shoes of David Mason and his elite JSOC team, fighting to uncover the truth behind Menendez’s resurgence in a sprawling high-tech city called Avalon.
The campaign introduces a sinister new weapon engineered to turn fear into a weapon of war, and it will span global locations from Japan and Nicaragua to Los Angeles and beyond.
As the story progresses, players will encounter the new “Endgame” finale sequence — a PvE mode where squads unlock powerful abilities to survive escalating challenges. Notably, Black Ops 7 introduces Global Progression, meaning XP, weapon camos, and challenges earned in the campaign will carry over to Multiplayer, Zombies, and even Call of Duty: Warzone once Season 1 begins.

Key Multiplayer Features and Innovations
Black Ops 7’s multiplayer launches with 16 core 6v6 maps — 13 new and 3 remastered from Black Ops II. Two large-scale 20v20 Skirmish maps add vehicles, wingsuits, and grappling hooks for chaotic battles.
At launch, players will access 30 weapons, both new and fan-favorites. A new Overclock gear system deepens customization of killstreaks and equipment. Movement receives an upgrade via Next-Level Omnimovement, adding wall-jumps and advanced traversal options.
The game also introduces Weapon Build Codes for sharing loadouts, plus a revamped Prestige system for both players and weapons, unlocking Prestige Attachments and Camos for dedicated players.

Return of Zombies Mode
The iconic Zombies mode makes a return, continuing the Dark Aether storyline. Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey now face alternate-universe versions of Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo.
The new chapter unfolds on the largest Zombies map ever, a haunted hellscape filled with threats and secrets. Classic Round-based Survival maps are back, and the fan-favorite Dead Ops Arcade 4 will offer a top-down, twin-stick shooter twist.

Launch Date, Platforms, and Pre-Order Info
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches worldwide November 14, 2025 on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
A multiplayer reveal event is set for September 30, followed by an Open Beta beginning October 2 for pre-order customers.
Pre-ordering also unlocks the Reznov Challenge Pack, which includes skins usable in Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The premium Vault Edition bundles extra digital content like Operator Skins, Mastercraft Weapon Blueprints, Season 1 Battle Pass, and Zombies GobbleGums.
With co-op story missions, expanded multiplayer, and the biggest Zombies experience yet, Black Ops 7 is shaping up as one of the boldest entries in the franchise’s history.
