Alien: Earth Finally Has a Trailer — And It’s Packing More Than Just Xenomorphs

If you’ve been waiting for FX’s Alien: Earth to finally burst through the chest cavity of development hell, good news — it’s almost here, and the full trailer just landed like a doomed Weyland-Yutani shuttle. And it’s sure to land at the crux of our top 100 shows to stream.

After months of cryptic teasers, vague plot descriptions, and moody stills, the new trailer finally gives us a proper look at Noah Hawley’s (Fargo, Legion) ambitious attempt to bring the Alien franchise to the small screen. And let’s just say — it’s not just a xenomorph problem anymore.

Welcome to Prodigy City, Where Sci-Fi Horror Gets a Corporate Makeover

Set in the year 2120, Alien: Earth throws us into a dystopia ruled by five megacorporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, humans co-exist with synthetics, cyborgs, and now… hybrids. And no, not the kind that get good gas mileage.

Prodigy’s wunderkind CEO has unlocked the next evolutionary leap: hybrid beings infused with human consciousness. The first of these, Wendy (played by Sydney Chandler), is a synthetic with something resembling a soul. It’s not creepy at all, until a Weyland-Yutani spacecraft crashes directly into Prodigy City and unleashes a buffet of nightmare fuel.

Yes, There Are Xenomorphs — But Wait, There’s More

The trailer gives us a grimy, claustrophobic look at what’s to come: soldiers with pulse rifles, cities in chaos, and something clicking in the shadows that sounds suspiciously familiar (ahem — Predator fans, keep your ears open). But the wildest reveal? The ship wasn’t carrying just Xenos.

    According to one ominous voiceover:

“This ship collected five different life forms from the darkest corners of the universe. Monsters… invasive species… predatory.”

That’s right. We’re looking at a potential monster mashup that expands the Alien universe in unexpected ways. Four other hostile species are onboard, and they’re not here to play nice.

    Blood, Biotech, and Boardroom Drama

As the infestation spreads, corporations scramble to weaponize and research the creatures. Cue military interventions, suits ripping each other to shreds, and likely several double-crosses that would make even Weyland-Yutani blush. This is shaping up to be less “kill the alien” and more “kill each other while the aliens kill us.”

Hawley’s knack for complex characters and philosophical dread is all over this thing. And with a writer’s room that includes folks from WandaVision, American Gods, and The Umbrella Academy, the storytelling potential is as stacked as the cast list.

    Who’s Who in Alien: Earth

Here’s your paragraph with the actor names hyperlinked to IMDb search results:

Sydney Chandler and Timothy Olyphant lead a hefty ensemble that includes Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Sandra Yi Sencindiver, Babou Ceesay, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Essie Davis, Erana James, Kit Young, and more. Hawley directed several episodes himself, with Ridley Scott on board as an executive producer. So yes, this thing has pedigree.

    When and Where to Watch

Alien: Earth premieres August 12 at 8 PM ET on FX and Hulu, with Disney+ following at 8 PM PT (August 13 for UK and Europe). The first two episodes drop on day one, followed by weekly releases until the 8-episode first season wraps.

    Final Thought

This isn’t just another Xeno reboot. Alien: Earth looks like a slick, terrifying corporate-sci-fi cocktail — part Blade Runner, part Aliens, part “what the hell is that clicking noise?” We’ve been waiting years for the franchise to evolve. Looks like it finally has.
And yeah… we’re definitely not ready.
