Today, Apple dropped some seriously exciting updates at its “Awe-Dropping” September 9 event—think sleeker iPhones, smarter software design, and next-gen accessories. Here’s a full rundown of the new gadgets and gizmos.
iPhone 17 Lineup & the New iPhone Air

- iPhone Air: The thinnest iPhone ever at just around 5.5–5.6 mm. It sports a 6.5″ OLED ProMotion display, a titanium-framed design, a single but super sharp 48 MP rear camera, and the premium A19 Pro silicon. Despite its slim build, Apple promises up to 40 hours of video playback on one charge.
- iPhone 17: Now with a brighter 6.3″ ProMotion display, 1–120 Hz refresh rate, and dual 48 MP rear cameras (including that nifty 2× optical-quality telephoto). It’s powered by the speedy A19 chip—and yes, that always-on display finally made its way to the standard model.
Preorders begin September 12, with availability starting September 19.
Cameras & Processing Power

- The iPhone 17 Pro models take it up a notch with triple 48 MP cameras—one of which delivers 8× optical zoom. Expect redesigned camera bars and improved thermal performance thanks to enhanced internal architecture. The new body design looks more “pro” than ever – borderline industrial.
Inside, Apple’s new A19 chip handles the standard and Air models, while the Pro and Pro Max get the premium A19 Pro, built on a 3 nm process for peak efficiency and speed.
AirPods Pro 3, Apple Watch Upgrades, and Beyond

- AirPods Pro 3 step up with improved noise cancellation, health sensors, and live language translation capabilities.
- Apple Watch Series 11 features cutting-edge health features like blood-pressure alerts, enhanced durability, and 5G support.
- Watch Ultra 3 isn’t slacking either—think rugged build, satellite connectivity, and a whopping 42-hour battery life.
- The Watch SE 3 brings always-on display, faster charging, and upgraded performance to the entry-level segment.
The Look & Feel of iOS 26

- Apple previously unveiled iOS 26, introducing a beautiful new design language called “Liquid Glass”—think translucent, dynamic elements that adapt and react with stunning visual depth. This unified look extends across iOS, iPadOS, macOS Tahoe 26, watchOS 26, and tvOS 26.
- Expect it as a free software update starting Monday, September 15. Note that some features (like Apple Intelligence) may initially only be available in select languages and regions.
Final Thoughts

I love how Apple continues pushing design boundaries—especially with the ridiculously thin iPhone Air and this new Liquid Glass aesthetic (not sure if I’ll actually like the liquid glass look, though, tbh). The fusion of hardware and software is getting sharper than ever. That said, Apple’s stock ramped up before taking a sharp tip post-event. This could indicate that Apple didn’t deliver as much AI functionality as investors had hoped. I remain skeptical if the newest software update will actually give us the Apple Intelligence we were promised ages ago.
